This heirloom hand-beaded formal bag is a handmade treasure made in Belgium by Jorelle in the late 1950's or late 1940's, and is in exceptional condition considering its age. Other vintage handmade beaded bags by Jorelle with less intricate designs and showing some wear have sold at auction for several hundred dollars.
Completely covered with tiny pearlescent white ‘glass’ seed beads, w/design of tiny incandescent beads in muted salmon and muted green. Round pressure clasp is set with beads and small faux pearls. Top of gold-toned frame covered with an elaborate design of beads, faux pearls, gold braiding & enamel work. Gold-toned chain handle. White satin interior with 2 pockets & mirror.
A collector's dream perfect for formal occasions, special evenings... and wedding.
